Education Event Ground Rules

Conditions of booking

  • Sessions are limited to a maximum of 8 participants. Sessions require a minimum of 4 participants to take place. In the event sessions not meeting this, we reserve the right to refund you your booking fee, or transfer you to an alternative date/ time.

  • The programme of topics to be covered as described on the booking page.

  • Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) events are aimed at KS3/4 levels for participants aged 11-16. However we can adapt the session depending on the ability of those booked in.

  • At the start of each session, we will outline some aims and outcomes the group want to achieve before the end, based on the topic. The sessions will be somewhat structured, but there will be a variety of learning activities used to ensure accessibility to all. There will be at least one short break included in the session, but participants are welcome to have movement/ toilet breaks as appropriate.

  • All sessions will take place at SOS2, although weather depending we may go for walks around the Centre. Participants should make their way to SOS2 for the start time, where they’ll be issued with wristbands for the day.

  • All activities will be led by experienced and qualified staff. All staff are Enhanced DBS checked. Barring unforeseen circumstances (ie staff illness), the sessions will be led by the same staff members.

  • Payment is required in advance to confirm your space. Refunds will only be given for missed sessions if you inform us before the session start time.

  • In the event of us having to cancel a session, we will arrange proportionate refunds.

  • The price is £10 per participant per session, with one free adult per family. This includes admission to Suffolk Owl Sanctuary for the rest of the day.

  • Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay during the sessions, but should not disrupt the session. They may be asked to assist with some activities.

  • Some activities are planned to involve group work. Please contact Susan on susan@owlbarn.co.uk or 07879 547 067 if you know you will miss a session so that alternative activities for the group can be arranged.

For the safety of all visitors, we respectfully ask that if anyone in your household has, or has come into contact with, anyone who has symptoms or has tested positive for Covid 19 within the 10 days previous to each course, that you do not attend. Our staff may wear face masks for the duration of each session, and all surfaces and materials will be wiped down between sessions.
