Fun for all the family at community events

Outreach visits outside of normal working hours are subject to staff availability.

We are happy to attend a limited number of local community events throughout the year. Please contact us if you would like us to attend your event.

PLEASE NOTE - As of January 1st 2022, we will no longer be transporting our birds off site. This is following advice from leading avian vets regarding their health and welfare, in terms of upcoming changes to guidance on keeping birds of prey. We appreciate that this may be disappointing but want to assure you that our Education Team are ready with a new programme of activities which will continue to engage and inspire your groups to learn more about the natural world around them.

Schools are welcome to arrange a visit to us, or a Virtual Session if an in-person visit is not appropriate.

The Sanctuary was asked to provide an activity throughout the day of special events for all groups on two separate days. Each activity was perfectly tailored to each age and ability group. The children loved hearing about the work of the Owl Sanctuary and enjoyed the practical and active nature of the sessions. The staff’s knowledge and enthusiasm for owl pellet dissection was clear to see and the older pupils were mesmerised by the hour spent pulling the pellets apart.

A really enjoyable afternoon and one we will definitely be wanting to do again!
— Hive Eco Kids
The pellet dissection was a source of fascination for both pupils and supervising adults. Thank you for a wonderfully engaging activity!
— Royal Hospital School
Kids loved learning about Falconry and the different terminology, comparing US to UK English. The whole experience was brilliant!
— Lakenheath Elementary School
Our students like practical challenges, so being told what makes a good Owl box location by the type of Owl meant they could work as a team to scout for good locations. This was great!
