Admission & Displays
The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary opens daily from 10.00am to late afternoon, seven days a week. Flying demonstrations and talks take place throughout the day from just before Easter to end-September, providing a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of Owls and other birds of prey.
You will also find Red Squirrels, the Raptor Hospital, The Barclays Sensory Garden, an information centre about Owls, a woodland walk, picnic areas and plenty of activities for children including the S.O.S. Safari with a prize for all young visitors, a mini-maze, adventure frame, the popular MeerKat Kastle, plus the famous Owl Barn Gift Shop at S.O.S.
With the exception of the Woodland Walk during winter, the centre is wheelchair friendly.
There are over 80 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations. Our "Come-&-Go" tickets allow you to visit all the attractions between our Flying Demonstrations on the day admission is purchased. Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is supported by voluntary donations and admission charges from members of the visiting public. Please note that we are WHOLLY RELIANT on these donations and admission charges for the upkeep of the Centre, the welfare of the birds and the funding of our many education, conservation and rehabilitation projects. All monies collected are used only for this purpose. Here's a short film by the students of Ravensbourne College about the centre.
Stonham Barns itself is a great place to spend the day - there are numerous craft & gift shops, a garden centre, adventure golf, soft play barn and a coffee shop, plus plenty of free parking and many traffic-free areas.
The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns is situated on the A1120 Tourist route, easily accessible form the A14, A12 and A140 - simply follow the brown signs - or click on the Map button below. Our telephone number is (local rate number) 03456 807 897.
